“My experience at Lumina has been very rewarding. My tutee has responded extremely positively to our lessons and his progress is already noticeable. The students that Lumina supports have been dealt some really difficult cards in life. Your help could make a difference in their academic progress and motivation levels. If you are able to, I would like to encourage you to volunteer with Lumina. I did, and it was one of the best decisions I made this year.”

You can be the difference!

The ask is simple: Teachers (Lumina Tutors) volunteer once a week, in term time, to provide students (Lumina Tutees, predominantly care-experienced young people) with one 45-minute lesson per week. They deliver lessons across the full school age range and across all subjects, though we currently have an overwhelming demand for specialists in English, Maths and Science. Teachers can work with the same student through a complete academic cycle (usually up to a public exam).
